WELCOME TO SHUO ZHANG HOMEPAGEMy research interest is the interface of human auditory perception and computational linguistics in addressing theoretical problems about speech sound processing in human brain and for machines. I also do research on music-language interface, currently in the field of music information retrieval (MIR)-computational and automated processing for audio signals in music as well as linguistic and musical metadata.
RESEARCH GROUPSI am a Ph.D research assistant for the Setswana Project, at Georgetown University Department of Linguistics, funded by National Science Foundation (PI:Dr. Lisa Zsiga), where I developed computational tools for automated speech data processing.Currently (summer 2013-) I also work as a researcher at CompMusic Project, Music Technology Group, Dept. of Information and Communication Technologies, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain, funded by the European Research Council (PI:Dr Xavier Serra). I was a visiting member of the Phonetics Lab, Institute of Linguistics, China Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing in 2010.
